1. Our Zero-Telemetry Stance
Krexel is built from the ground up as an offline-first, on-device AI assistant. We do not operate remote inference servers for core features, we do not require user account registration, and we collect zero telemetry or prompt analytics.
2. Local Data Processing & Storage
All chat sessions, note rewrites, document OCR extractions, and keyboard writing interactions take place entirely on your device's physical CPU/GPU/NPU hardware via LiteRT and llama.cpp runtimes.
- Document Indexing: Extracted document text and visual OCR data are stored in a local SQLite database isolated from system cloud backups.
- Biometric Security Vault: Sensitive extracted fields (identity numbers, credentials) are encrypted using Android Keystore-backed AES-256-GCM and require biometric unlock (fingerprint or face authentication) before display.
- No Cloud Vector Databases: File search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) operate locally without uploading file embeddings to external vector storage.
3. Shareable LAN Server Endpoint
If you enable Krexel's Shareable Local AI Server Endpoint feature, your smartphone hosts a local API on your private Wi-Fi network (Port 11180). All API traffic remains within your local network and is protected by local API key authentication and rate limiting.
4. Model Downloads
When downloading curated AI models or browsing Hugging Face models within the app, network connections are established directly to official model repositories. No prompt data or personal identifiers are attached to these downloads.
